    The name of our townland is Bance. It is in the parish of Conahy to the south of Castlecomer. It is in the barony of Fassadinan. There are four families in our townland. Downey is the most common name in the parish of Conahy. There is no old people in our townland. There is only one townland thatched house in our townland. Some of the people went to America in former years. Some of the land is hilly. The most of the people are farmers. Some of the land is tilled. The land is good. The river Deen flows through our townland.
