People long ago told many stories about the "Headless Coach" and they were kept by tradition.
- Some years ago there were a few very old people in this district but, at present, there are not many of them living. Those people must have known a lot of "Folklore" but we have no old persons from whom we can learn anything of our district in the days gone by.
The oldest person I remember was Kate Gahan. She lived in a little thatched house convenient to Lough Caithleen and my house also. She lived by herself and she had a nice little white dog which she kept for company. She called him "Darkey".
