   When they were tried in that long steeplechase,
   Between Nancy and another there was a tight race,
   But the grey is my darling, I'll bet on her still,
   John Clancy came winning on brave Nacy Till.

   She ran in Fethard as I understand,
   Where thousands had assembled at a meeting thats grand,
   Nancy Till was the word and the style of the day.
