The last 'keener' in Tullaghought was Siobhaín Ryan the pres smith's Grandmother and Jude O Donnell the present O Sheas (of Birchwood) grandmother.- "Bridógs" attended unasked at the brides homecoming or "hauling home".
- May bushes were erected and decorated with red and blue ribbons in honour of the B. Virgin. The egg shells used on Easter Sunday morning were hung on bush also to counteract effect of Fairy charms and witchcraft
