  1. A crock of gold is said to be hidden in Coolhill Castle in the Rower. The people of of the Castle hid it there. An animal like a bull is minding it. Some men went to look for the treasure, but the animal drove them back again. When people are passing by at night the animal can be seen. No people dared to touch it ever since.

  2. Jewels are said to be hidden, in Cats-Rock, between Waterford an Sliabh-Ruadh, in the parish of Sliabh-Ruadh It is guarded by a sword. The sword moves around about and points towards the person who tries to get the treasure It is said that Freaney the Robber hid it there while he was working in Ross. Every seven years the door opens and anyone can go in. It is said that the door is only left open for a while.
