  1. The grouce, pheasant, partridge, duck and snipe are the wild birds common in our district. These birds do not imigrate but the cockoo, swallow and woodcock go away to a foreign country when the weather gets cold.
The swallow builds its nest in cowhouses, under the eves of houses and in dry sand banks. The woodcock, pheasant, partridge and grouse build their nests on the ground in the wood. The cuckoo of course, builds no nest at all. The wild pigeon builds in trees. The wild duck makes her nest in the lake banks and the snipes nest is found in the bogs.
