    There lived in this townsland of Tobar-na-brón an old man who was living by himself and he was very poor.
    A party of the local farmers made up for a dance in aid to help the poor man.
    There were only special friends of theirs invited and the local labouring were left out.
    They made up a plan to get even with them, and they walked about two miles to a farmer's house where they knew the geese would lie in the yard at night.
    They took the gander and put him in a bag and brought him to the house where the dance was held.
    The house was very low at the back with a high bank behind it and when the dance was at its full height and tea ready the boy'os left the gander down the chimney.
    All at the dance thought the Devil and all his angels were coming they all ran
