  1. This was said to be the daughter of the original owner of Bessboro-Dalton of Cill Dalton.
She was supposed to have fallen in love with Ponsoby - one of Cromwells officers and lost her mind on hearing that he had married a lady named Elizabeth (Bess-Bessboro)
She used to go about dressed in white a bridal robe which she had provided for her marriage to Ponsoby.
She lived for some time roving about the demense.
Her favourite walk was by the hawthorn bush where she had played as a child. One evening she was found dead on the grave of her father in the old old graveyard at Kilkdalton.
