    James Owens, Cloonfadmore, Carrick-on-Shannon Co. Roscommon was born around 1819, and died 1909. He died in Dublin and was buried there. he also had the gift of poetry from his ancestors. He composed many poems. One was a farewell to his own townland.
    "Farewell Cloonfad my birthplace for I must bid adieu.
    To all my friends and neighbours and kind old comrades too
    My turn now had come at last like some good men before.
    To-morrow at the dawn of day, I leave you Cloonfadmore."
