  1. There is a hidden treasure near my house at a place called Ballagh in Hillstreet, Drumsna, Co. Roscommon. It is supposed to be hidden by the Danes. It is hidden under a big stone. Several attempts were made to remove the stone but all to no use. This treasure consists of a bag of gold. We are told by the old people that is guarded by a fairy and also whoever succeeds in unearthing this gold will have to loose some limb of his body if only a finger. There is a story of a similar treasure to be found in a place called Rockville. This treasure is to be found in a cave. Lights are to be seen in this cave at a certain hour of the night.
