  1. Stories collected from Tom Mooney of Ballinakill.
The house he lives in was at one time a school over 60 or 70 years ago a Miss O'Neill taught in it. It was owned by a girl called Miss Gaffney who lived there and died there also. Tom Mooney said he saw the room where she died all lit up with a white light which lasted 10 minutes or so. He also hears noises and steps up and down through the house. She used to keep a purse of money under her pillow when she was ill and she fancied that someone took some of her money.
This same man said he saw his master after his death walking round the fields dressed in the same clothes he used to wear in life.
He also saw a black dog at a part of the road called the "Black Turns" it disappeared after a while and its eyes were like two balls of fire.
