1. There is an ancient rock lying in a field. It is believed that St. Brigid passes this rock on 22nd February of every year. Her ass left a footprint on the rock and it is supposed to cure warts.
2. Two Englishmen were coming over to Ireland to buy a farm, a quarrel arose between them to see which of them would have Ticknevin or Kilpatrick. It was agreed that the one who reached Ireland first would have Ticknevin. One of them cut off his hand when near the shore and threw it into Ireland. He then won Ticknevin and placed his hand and and sword over the door of the house which can be still seen.

There is a holy well in Ticknevin called St. Brigid's Well it is on a rock. There is a cure for warts in it, a person has to bring three pins and put them in the well and St. Brigid has them gone when(continues on next page)
