  1. Jim Foley, 72, of Carrigaline, Co. Cork, told my brother, Diarmuid, on Dec. 20th, 1938, that he remembered two fellows whom he + a companion had to convey home on a bright moonlight night - they were completely moon-blind - about 45 years ago (before 1938). "You must be moonblind", is a common expression in Carrigaline still.
One of those moonblind men used to be blind in his house while the bright moon lasted + recovered his sight only at the return of the "dark moon".
