   The peelers got vexed,
   And with him rose a row,
   "Be the hoary," says Geoff,
   "Sure its only a sow."

   She is gone down to Dysart,
   In search of a job,
   Paud Deevy was welding,
   A sock on the hob,
   She broke into the forge,
   Sir, I cannot tell how,
   The mighty big bear,
   Turned into a sow.

   The peelers went home,
   With their heads hanging down,
   Ashamed of the neighbours,
   Going into the town,
   The met the D. J.
   And at him they did stare,
   "Arragh, sergeant a gradh,
   Did ye shoot the big bear."
