Weddings take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Matches are generally made in the district. A girl gets a fortune from her parents either money or stock. Straw boys were people who tied themselves up with straw and more old clothes. They went round to all the places that there was any night in, especially weddings. They danced and sang and told stories. Then when they were finished they were round with a plate and gathered money off the people that were looking on.
If a man marries a woman, and that he has no farm and the woman has, and he goes in, and works the rest of his life on her farm(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
