- All the old people are gradually dying away and all old tales with them. Here is a true story I heard from an old person recently.
A certain chieftain of the O'McCarthy Moore's was very much afraid that his money would be stolen and so he decided that he would make a secret hiding place for it. As luck would have it, a war which he was expecting to break out, sooner than it did, did not break out until he had the secret vault finished. All that remained was to hide the money.
The secret vault was about a mile from his castle, and O'MacCarthy carried the money there on horse-back, but on his way back he was shot through the chest. His enemys had got himself but not his money. His friends found him almost dead, but before he died he said "Treasure... in fence...seven miles long... betwixt bog... and... earth"(continues on next page)- Collector
