  1. A Local Happening
    About fifty years ago two tailors named respectively Sullivan and Clifford lived about a mile from the village of Causeway. They used stay up late at night sewing for their customers, because at that time there were no machines invented.
    One night when they were up late, a knock came to the door about one oclock. One of them said to the other "Put out the light". The second knock came, but still they made no answer.
    The third knock came and after this a voice saying "Come out and take this man off the road". They both went out and the man was lying on the road near a donkey and cart.
