    they received a large sum of money in exchange for them. They were very proud on account of their great luck, but before long their luck was changed.
    All the treasures belonged to the fairies, and they made the man's life very unpleasant. They tormented the poor family incessantly. Every night they upset the furniture in his house. The cows in the barn were pegged with turf. At night when they were in bed they were pegged with potatoes and many other tormenting things.
    The terrified unfortunate man did not know what to do.
