    The people pealed them with their nails and it was a wonder that they were not poisoned. The table was tied at the window and it was for two purposes. When the people were eating they pulled out the table and it was also a shutter for the window. In some houses in the olden times the people used to take butter milk & potatoes and salt or new milk and butter milk. This was called mixed milk. If one got meat and cabbage they would think they would be very rich and very seldom there
