    people used to but the material in the shops & then get it made from the tailor but now one of them stocks it himself. They made suits & all sorts for the men & some of the women get them to make costumes etc for them. There is also a tailoress in my parish & she makes some of the women & girls clothes. She is Miss Duffy Rathmullen Ballymote. Some women of my parish also get sewing machines & make all their own clothes. When anybody belonging to a person dies they usually sew on a black piece of crape on their right arm. There are two spinning wheels in my district yet but they are all gone now. These people some of them spin yet.
