- (continued from previous page)cough can be also cured by meeting a man with a piebald horse and getting any cure from him. There is a third cure for the whooping cough and it is the drinking of a quantity of asse's milk. This cure is seldom if ever resorted to. A very unpleasant feeling is to have a sty in the eye but it can be easily cured by procuring ten thorns off a gooseberry bush and pointing nine of them to the eye and throwing each one as it is used across the left shoulder. Any person suffering from warts has a very simple remedy by which he may be cured. It is to go out of doors immediately after getting out of bed and the first stone which he meets with water on it to wash the warts thereon. A burn or scald can be easily cured if there is a person nearby who has the cure which is very easily obtained, just by licking a mankeeper or a lizard.
- The usual cure for measles was obtained by boiling the roots of nettles and adding potín to the juice obtained from the roots. A cure for warts was(continues on next page)
