  1. A table of gold is hidden in a place called Caipeal in the neighbourhood somewhere in the townland of Drumeghan [?]. Robbers used to live about here. One night as they were counting their treasure on a table they heard people coming. They quenched the rush candle that was giving them light. Then two of then ran off with the treasure to hide it and the other two were killed. The two who hid the treasure were afterwards Killed but no one knows where they hid the treasure, for it was never found.

    There is a great treasure supposed to be hidden in my grandfather's field on a little hill in the townland of Largydonnell. A magic eel is guarding it and one of the treasure seekers' lives will be lost before the gold is found. Once a long time ago some men gathered to dig for the treasure. They dug and dug with spades until they went down a long way. Just as they were thinking that they were on the treasure a great strong blast of wind suddenly came upon them scattering them through the field. It frightened them so much that none went back again to get the treasure. This eel used to
