  1. A woman named Mrs C Gowan who lives in the townland of Gortnaleck, Parish of Ahamlish, Barony of Carbury, Co Sligo has the cure of the ringworm.
She is the seventh daughter of the family in succession.
Whenever the seventh son or daughter in succession is born in a family, in order to get this cure the mother or father has to look underneath stones to get a worm. The first worm obtained is put into the child's hand. The hand is then closed tightly on the worm and kept in that position until the worm is dead. The child then has the cure of the ringworm.
