- One the Summer of 1912 an excursion of Students left the Seminary Killarney for Inch strand. Fr Johnny OConnor Dingle was the Dean then and the students were under his supervision. There were some more priests who were teaching in the Seminary in the excursion also.
When they arrived at Inch strand the students were swimming in batches here and there along the strand. Fr Allman curate of Ballylonford was a student there then and was with them.

Apparently he got stunned and never rose. There were only a small number in this batch and when they saw the wave knock him they got frightened and ran out of the water. His friends came from Kenmare and some from Castletownbare on the following day(continues on next page)- Collector
