    every tree together with the ball of twine. When the giant came back he asked the tailor what was he doing. He answered "I am going to bring all the wood home with him and not a half load". "O leave them there because you might kill my mother with one of them" said the giant. The next thing was to see which would bring most water from the river. The giant got two buckets and the tailor could fit in one of them. The tailor got a spoon and a spade and the two went off to the river. The giant filled his two buckets and went home. The tailor stayed there digging and shovelling. When the giant came back he asked the tailor what he was doing. He said he was going to bring the whole river up to the house because it was too much trouble going up to the house with a handful. "O leave it there because you might throw my mother into it" said the giant. The next trick was to see which of them would eat the most porridge in the morning. There were two pots of porridge boiled. The giant got a big shovel and started to shovel the porridge into him. The tailor got a bullocks skin and put it around
