    One of the ships that brought over the meal was going back empty. Some of the boys and girls got into the ship and were going to go across to America, but as they were leaving Killala bay a storm arose so they did not go out to sea but stayed in the bay. The boys and girls went below where there was a stove lit. The sailors battened down hatches to keep the water out from them, but when they went down in the morning they found the boys and girls all dead for want of fresh air.
