    and at farm houses. Sometimes, when prices go high at the fair, "jobbers" go to farmer's houses to make their purchases.
    There is no custom paid in Tarbert or in Glin but there is in Listowel. You pay a penny toll on each bonhams and three pence or six pence per head on cows. The toll money in Listowel goes to the Earl of Listowel.
    When a bargain has been made the farmer allows "luck-penny". He holds out his palm, and the buyer clinches the deal by striking it.
    Usually "jobbers" work in "companies". If the leader fails, one after another of his followers will offer a decreasing sum. When the leader comes back
