   Which so oft have resounded in sweet fairy tune.

   IV.

   Farewell creevalee, vale of song and story,
   By the bright river Bonnet,
   So calm and so pure.
   In its lyrics the valley lay smiling before me,
   Its fame is revealed by the talented Moore.

   V.

   But alas: time has altered its stately appearance,
   The halls of O Rourke they are faded and gone.
   but where is the word of Brian of the Ramparts,
   who once showed defiance to oppression and wrong?
   Where are all those heroes with famed battle axes
   Who were led by the chieftains through many a fray
   Ah! they lie in their graves, lonely, sad and forsaken,
   By the banks of the Bonnet in sweet Creevalee.

   VI.

   The harp is now silent, the minstrel has vanished,
   The halls once rechoed with music are still,
   The chieftains are gone, by cursed tyrany banished,
   From their homes by the beautiful banks of Lough Gill.
