  1. In the northern part of Ireland there was a school-master who was very fond of treating his pupils very cruelly. It is said that a Catholic priest on hearing of his wicked deeds got him banished from the school, and tradition tells us that he was changed into a a pig, and was a black colour. It is isaid tht the pig travelled three miles east of Ballinamore always keeping to the valley of the country; and past Carrigallen in County Leitrim, but when he went some distance below Fenagh a woman who was washing clothes on the bank of a river, was surprised when she saw him approaching, killed him with a stroke of a beetle she had in her hand. Told by Peter Dolan (age 75) Ballinamore, Co Leitrim
