  1. (continued from previous page)
In the years of twenty twenty one
    His great hardships did endure
In company with his comrades true
    On mountain plain and moor.
    He was a gallant soldier
For fear he did not know
And in the fight for Freedom
    His powers he did show.
    In the Irish Republican Army
He was always to the fore
He was with his friends to victory
at the foot of old Side mór.
    He had many engagements
and always came out brave and true
Twas sad to think that he now lies
In a cold and silent grave.
    In Drumcong Holy Cemetery
    His body lies at rest
His soul we hope is in Heaven
For ever with the the Blest.
