    very straight and thick. When a suitable piece is obtained it is scooped out and a clear hollow is left in it for the passage of the pea. These are often dangerous.
    Gelatine Belts: Girls make belts from gelatine paper and these look very nice over thin frocks. First, plenty of gelatine paper is collected. Three pieces are taken and plaited together, three more pieces are plaited and still another three plaited like-wise and then the three are plaited together. The girdle is fastened by a buckle.
