  1. Prayers
Prayers said when "raking" the fire before bed-time:-
I spare this fire as Christ spares all
May Jesus and Mary guard us all
I pray to the Host of Angels bright
To guard ourselves and our home tonight.
    When going to bed:-
The Cross of Jesus, Mary and St. Joseph this night may be about us.
    When being in bed:-
As I lay on my right hand
I pray God to be my quide
God bless this bed that I lie on
There are four corners on my bed
    Four angels on my spread
And if I die in mortal sin
That I may never see the depths of hell.
God Bless Good Friday and Friday too.
    Before bed-time:-
God bide with us this night
    Again until day
God and Mary bide with us
