    Runners
    James Concannon, Brierfield, ran a foot race in England. The race was six miles. There was a competition between himself and a good hunt horse and he got the prize. It is about 30 years ago.
    Walkers
    John Mellody, Guilkagh, walked to Dublin in a day and a night. It is 86 Irish miles. He went to see Fitzgerald Kenny the father of the late Fitzgerald Kenny who was under the Cosgrave Government. It is 80 years ago.
