    One night about twelve o clock two men were coming home from a dance.

    bell was ringing and it stopped for a while. Then as they were going to go home the bell was ringing on the other side of the road. Then the men got a fright because they knew that it was the dead bell that was ringing and when that would someone was sure to die. This is a lonesome place and old people say that they were not the only people that heard it. It is said that long ago there was a big in that field and O'Conner's father cut it away and that is why it is so lonesome. There is a name for that field and it is called the Cúilín.
