  2. The bramble tree is supposed to be sacred because it was used to scourge the moneychangers out of the temple.
    The cherry-tree represents the fig-tree that Our Lord cursed, and the juice that is in the fruit of the cherry-tree are drops of blood.
    The oak-tree is supposed to be sacred if the mistle-toe grows on it.
    The aspen-tree or the poplar tree should not be used to make boats, rails,
