    with multi colored shawls and check aprons selling sweets, chocolates, oranges, apples, biscuits and many other different kinds of fruit and candies. On this account it was a most enjoyable time for young people.
    The 15th August is another great festival. Hundreds of people go to Knock, Co Mayo the evening before and remain the night there at midnight Masses. Many cures are wrought on that night.
    On the 8th of November a goose is killed in honour of St. Martin and the four corners of the kitchen and the door posts are sprinkled with its blood.
