Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Myles McTigue late of Drumristin died in the year 1931 at the age of 65. He was the local Poet. He was a MILLER, MASON, and CARPENTER. His first poem was the "Old Corn Mill" composed after its erection.
    A second poem "This is Ballinaglera". A third poem was "The flower of Slievenakilla"; this latter poem was dedicated to a lovely maiden "May Ann McGreal". He fell in love with her but she "let him down". He is buried in Fahy (Killboithí) He was supposed to have the power of banishing rats. Rats never frequented his corn mill however.
    He composed a song about "Tobar Bhoithí" and the Seminary that was once there. He was a member of the A.O.H. and another song he composed was "Who is the Irishman who does not love the Green".
    His chief competitor was William Doyle Drumshanbo and their poems and songs were in Old Moore's Almanac.
