  2. Long ago there were many old schools in the district. These schools were built in the townlands of Tullyclevan, Kilduff, Canbeg and one at Killbride grave-yard and also one at Allen View school. The school that was built in the townland of Canbeg was about fifty yards from where Shannon View now stands. This school was built at the bottom of the hill. It was a small thatched school. The teachers' names who taught in it were Master Tum Mulvey and Master Travers.
