Edenville N. School is in the parish of Kinlough.

    (continued from previous page)
The Kinlough Parish occupies the portion of Couty Leitrim between the mountains of Leitrim and Sligo. These mountains form the Northern end of the Lackagh Hills.
At the present time they are bleak and tree-less but from names of townlands in the Parish there must have been plenty of trees in olden times. Some of these names are Uragh, Unshinagh, Derrinloughin, Gurtandarragh, Derryherk, Derrynaseer.
Two townlands take their names from graveyards. These are Laghta amd Fertagh. There are some ancient looking stones in Laughta but an ordinary person would not be able to make any thing of them now.
There are some pillar stones or Dolmens in the Tullaghan part of the parish along the sea coast and smaller stones in Donegal across the Drowes. Tradition speaks of great battles fought in Magheracar (in Donegal) in which hundreds of Leitrim men were killed.
A rather old man called Lacey says that he heard that some of those latter stones were to mark the graves
