    Long ago when the townland now called Tawley was a dense wood, As there were no roads only paths on which travelled peddling women, and many other classes. these people were often robbed, so here is a story by an old man whose daughter was also getting the [p?]. One day a peddling woman happened to pass that part of the country and on her person she carried a large sum of money, Two young men came to know this and it is supposed they murdered her as she was never seen again.
    One fine sunday evening about twenty years after, the men were down at the sea and one of them suggested that it would be nice to go for a row in a boat, the owner of boat went out too. When
