    On the south side of Mullagh Castlenancy doth lie

    On the south side of Cuullagh Castlemancy doth lie;
    'Tis in that kind village I found comfort and joy.
    Wo grumble, no frown, no hunger, no thirst,
    But welcome! Sit down, eat till you burst.

    Wigh Gortymadden tis built on a lane
    Its in that kind of village I would like to remain.
    Its people are civil well mannered and kind
    The poor or the stranger - they would cheer up his mind
    Lodgings and money they are willing to give
    And when their'e insulted they are sure to forgive.

    They shine over Cappy, they pray for the latter.
    Saying poor Cappy village we would wish you were better
    You are wicked you are poor you are a bother to many
    Those deeds you endure, and you also want money

    The curse of poor people and the curse of the Lord
