    Cures (contd)
If a black snail after having been rubbed on a wart is hung on a thorn, it is a common belief round here that the wart will wither as the snail withers on the thorn.
Goose fat is a cure for rheumatism. Some old people keep some in jam pots for use all the year round. Geese are always more plentiful at Christmas.
If a hair is taken from a white horse's tail and tied around a wart it will cure it.
The juice of the dandelion is another cure for warts.
The best cure for sea-sickness is to eat a bit of a salted herring.
