On St. Stephen's Day boys go from house to house with the wren. They put him into a little box and go into each house saying.
The wren , the wren, the king of all birds,
On Saint Stephen's Day's he was caught in the furze,
Up with the kettle and down with the pan,
Give us the money to buy the wren.
On Saint Stephen's Day boys dress up and go out in the mummers. They go from house to house dancing, singing and playing
