    be given "on credit". "Boot" which means that if people were exchanging two articles of unequal value, money would be given with the article of less value.
    The unlucky day for buying or selling any thing was Monday, and the lucky day was always Friday. Markets were held in former times; they are still held, for bonhams and fowl.
    Pedlars, dealers, and hucksters still visit this district, buying horse-hair, broken wool, feathers, bottles and rags.
    The various coins which have gone out of use are the:- four shilling piece, half-sovereign, sovereign, and the four penny bit.
