    Long ago people used go around gathering feathers and they used to pay two shillings a stone for them. They used also gather clothes that would be of no use and give pins or needles in exchange for them.
    The people of this district call a shilling "A Bob" and a sixpenny-bit a "Tanner." There were no shops in this district long ago and the people had to go to town for everything thing they wanted.
    Buying and selling were not carried out after Mass in this district at any time. Bartering was carried out in this district. A person gave a bag of potatoes for a bag of oats.
