    floor. The room was neither boarded nor ceiled. There were beds in this room (two) Curtains hung down in front of them. There was a half door on the kitchen as well as a whole door.
    The half door kept out the fowls. A turf fire blazed on the hearth and the light from it often lit up the willow patern plates that were on the high dresser.
