  2. Rose Noble is a weed. People used to get the roots and rub them on themselves to cure erysipelas. They used to call it the Rose. There is a crimson rose tree in our garden, which my great, great grand-Aunt used the flower for curing the same disease by mixing it with butter.
    Dan Mc Naught once had a jag in his hand and it started to swell. He put a poultice of cow manure on it. One day he was at our house and he showed it to me, he had taken the poultice off it. It had swelled up
