    and then you lift up the cart and put back the horse under the shafts then we let down the shafts on the horse's back. There is a chain from one shaft to the other and that is to hold up the cart. There is a place made on the straar[?] for the chain [?] drop into and then it does not hurt the horse's back. There are also two chains one on each side of the horse and they are called draughts. The draughts are fastened to the shafts of the cart and then we put the reins into the cart and then off we go.
