- There are two tailors in the district Hugh O'Donnell and Hugh Sheils. Mr Hugh O'Donnell lives in the townland of Ballykinard and is helped in his work by his two brothers George and James - when not busy. Mr Hugh Sheils lives in the townland of Aughadreena. They work at their homes and customers go to them to get their clothes made. They do not go from house to house as they used to in olden times. The tailor stocks cloth but he will make suits or coats with the customers own cloth if they so require.
Cloth is not spun unless in one or two homes. Mrs Bernard Carr, Carran, spins the wool and then sends it to the wearer too be woven into(continues on next page)- Collector
