  1. Colonel Baptist George Barton, Portsalon, was the landlord in this district. He was reared in Greenfort. Over two hundred years ago the colonel's grandfather came from Dublin. They were very good to the people.
    The Mc Gettigans were put out of their home in Warden. There were two in the family - a brother and sister. Their names were Una and Neillie. They were put out sixty years ago. Neillie went to Australia and Una went to America. Their mother would send Neillie to Ramelton with the money to pay the rent. Every time he would go up with the money he would spend it on drink.
